Sacrifice: Sacrifice in Hinduism Sacrifice in Ancient India. Although many Hindus are vegetarian, there are Hindu temples in India as well as Nepal where goats and chickens are sacrificed. There are many village temples in Tamilnadu where this kind of sacrifice takes place. It is attested in the Tamil Grammar, namely Tolkaappiyam. கொற்றவைநிலை koṟṟavai-nilai, n.
